Editorial Standards

FieldPylon exists to give NFL fans news they can trust. These are the standards every story on this site follows.

Accuracy comes first

We would rather be right than first. Every fact, number, score, and quote in a FieldPylon story is checked against a reliable source before it is published, and we link to those sources so you can check them too.

Our sources

We rely on:

  • Official announcements from NFL teams and the league
  • Injury reports, transaction wires, and press conferences
  • Established news organizations and credentialed beat reporters

When we report news first published by another outlet or reporter, we name them and link to their work. We don’t present reports as confirmed until they are confirmed, and we label rumors clearly as rumors.

Quotes

We only publish quotes that were actually said, and we attribute every quote to the person who said it and to where it was reported. We never invent, alter, or “clean up” a quote in a way that changes its meaning.

How we use AI

FieldPylon uses AI tools to help with research and drafting. AI never has the final say. Before any story is published, our editor, Vinod Kr. Yadav, personally reviews it line by line and verifies every piece of data, including scores, stats, dates, injury statuses, and quotes, against the original sources. If something can’t be verified, it doesn’t run.

News, analysis, and opinion

News stories report what happened. When a story includes analysis or opinion, such as what a trade means for a team’s playoff chances, we make it clear that it’s our take and explain the reasoning behind it.

Fantasy football and betting

Fantasy advice on FieldPylon is our opinion, based on the information available at the time of publishing. We don’t offer betting advice. When we mention point spreads or odds, it’s for context only.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it as quickly as we can and add a note at the end of the story explaining what was corrected and when. We don’t quietly change facts. Small fixes like typos may be corrected without a note.

To report an error, email contact@fieldpylon.com with a link to the story and what needs to be fixed.

Updates

NFL news moves fast. When we update a story with new information, the “Updated” time at the top of the article changes so you know you’re reading the latest version.

Independence

FieldPylon is independently owned and run by Vinod Kr. Yadav. We are not affiliated with the NFL, the NFL Players Association, or any team. No team, player, agent, or advertiser can pay to influence our coverage.

Advertising

FieldPylon is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads are always clearly separate from our stories, and advertisers have no say in what we cover or how we cover it.

Images

We only use images we have the right to use, such as licensed photos, our own graphics, or images provided for media use, and we credit them where required.
